That's a great question, Patricia. I will have to go into more depth on the Paestum area. But quickly, for buffalo mozzarella I really like Tenuta Vannulo as far as the experience and my favorite cheese is Barlotti:
Just wondering if you’ve ever tried Pasticceria Leona? We found it to much more warm and personal with excellent prices for an early morning espresso and croissant.
Hi Don, I do like Pasticceria Leone in Amalfi. They are friendly there! I tend to go there more in the winter and over the holidays, especially since the make really good torroncini and other traditional Christmas desserts.
That's a good question, Terry! The small towns along the coastline don't offer as much as far as indoor things to see and do as larger cities do. It does depend on where you're based as far as options. Right in Amalfi, there isn't a lot but you'll want to make sure to visit the Paper Museum and Duomo museum. There are some excellent museums in Sorrento (the wood inlay museum and the Museo Correale) plus an Impressionist exhibit currently at the Villa Fiorentino. Naples has A LOT of cultural and historical sites to explore, but getting there can be a bit more challenging depending on where you're staying. Outside of Naples, the Reggia di Caserta is incredible - even just visiting inside if the weather isn't good for walking in the gardens. The challenge is finding transport last minute during busy season when the weather turns bad. Enjoying good restaurants is one of the best options! :)
Hi Laura - I had written before and told you that I am moving to Minori in January. We know the town and the area pretty well, but still I would like to know if there is any expat community/forum for the Amalfi Coast. I contacted one group on FB (have not heard back); it was for the entire coast plus Naples and Salerno. Do you know of one for the Coast? Our plan is to be there full time, not just as vacationers. I have friends in other areas of Italy who have made great use of local expat sites (help with the "where to buy" questions, help with utilities, payments, etc., etc.) and I was hoping to find something similar.
Hi Tara, so sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Your comment came in during a hard week last month. I'd love to meet up when you're here on the coast! There isn't a Facebook grou for expats just on the coast. There actually are far fewer than most people expect. But I'd be happy to introduce you to the people I know. Drop me a line at laura@ciaoamalfi.com (or respond to any of these newsletters) so we can be in touch directly. Thanks!

But I haven't personally visited Barlotti. I sense an On the Road theme for this winter!
Thanks so much for sharing that kind review, Patricia! That really means a lot to hear. I love love love Ceramica Pinto, too!

What are your suggestions for things to do when having all these days of rain?
