Just walked the Main Street of Amalfi last night - and the Amalfi Coast Road between Atrani and Amalfi. Was delighted that the Christmas lights were all still up! I've had this winter's flu/cold since returning home to Minori on New Year's Day and had been sad to think I had missed all the decorations. While the bustle of Amalfi in summer has its energy, the quiet of winter Amalfi is especially lovely.

How funny to see that you were just a short distance down the river from me in Cambridge (I’m in Boston)! And researching Longfellow, who went to, and taught at, my alma mater, Bowdoin College. I’ll need to read that book. Anyway, you sound rejuvenated, much as I was after visiting your neck of the woods. Travel can do that for you 😁
