For a long time I’ve tried to convince myself that spring is my favorite season. While nothing will make happy quite the way a daffodil does, there’s something that comes alive deep within me when autumn arrives. It starts with an almost anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach that only comes this time of year. I’ve never been able to put my finger on it, but boots and scarves and the crunch of autumn leaves brings on an unmistakable sense of new beginnings.
While my fall gear is at the ready, it’s been a warmer October than usual. Autumn colors here always arrive later in the season, so for now I’m enjoying these mild and sunny October days. After all, a new season is just beginning …
Autumn Events on the Amalfi Coast
I received some great questions in September’s Amalfi Coast Chat. I answered a few in the comments and via email. Ciao Amalfi reader Deb wrote in and asked about special events in September for her Amalfi Coast trip next year. I’ve written in the past about summer festivals on the Amalfi Coast, but her question reminded me that it was time to do the same for the autumn. Head over to Ciao Amalfi to read more about the fun events and religious festivals that take place in autumn.
As always, if you have questions or would like to chat about the Amalfi Coast, this monthly thread is the place to do it. Just drop a comment below if you’re reading online or on the Substack app or hit reply if you’re reading this via email. Look forward to chatting!
Ciao from Amalfi,
Laura
I have always wanted to come for the November Sant’Andrea. (It is SO warm this year! I was swimming in Ponza last weekend)
We've got a couple of grey days here in Levanto, but the perfect fall weather comes back soon!
