I hope that you are having a wonderful COOL time in Scotland! As someone who has lived overseas for more of my life than not, I am counting the days to read Frances Mayes newest book.

Enjoy Scotland! We are in the midst of moving from NYC to Minori (also known as Paradise!). A very hot Eden for sure, but cooler than Puglia.

I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. The heat here in Serbia has been playing havoc with my health as well. And those flying lemon farmers! Wow!

Thanks, Michael! Finally turning a corner here and feeling better. I hope you are as well! The heat certainly hasn't been helping. Good luck staying cool!

Took a 12 day trip to Scotland, returning home on 6June22. Started in Edinburgh for 3 days, then rented a car to do the NC500. Traveled up the east coast first with stops in St. Andrews, Carnoustie, Durness, Ullapool, Portree and Glasgow.

Magnificent scenery, old castles and plenty of fish and chips, meat pies and scotch along the way. Have a great trip!

Sounds wonderful, Don! We'll be exploring a lot of the country on day trips from a home base in the central Highlands. Looking forward to seeing St. Andrews for sure!

We were told of all the rain and sudden temperature changes. So, we packed our rain suits and midge spray. Luckily, we never had to use either. But, in the summer months the midges are more active. Skin-So-Soft by Avon is the best! It also works on the “no see ums” on the South Carolina coast as well!

Thanks for the tips! Looks like we'll be getting a good deal of rainy days, but we're prepared. My mom has packed Skin-So-Soft by Avon for the midges as well. Hopefully we'll give them a miss!

That is an excellent book! I haven't read it for ages, but it's on my list to read again soon. I've been enjoying her short stories recently. Have you read any of those?
